Tokyo Ghoul tells the story of Ken Kaneki, a reserved college student living in Tokyo, where a terrifying threat looms over the city: flesh-eating ghouls who blend seamlessly into the human population. Though the news of the ghoul crisis spreads, Kaneki prefers to immerse himself in books, distancing himself from the growing danger. His quiet life takes a dark turn when he meets Rize Kamishiro, an alluring woman who unexpectedly asks him on a date.

However, Rize has sinister intentions, and Kaneki soon finds himself the target of her ghoul hunger. After a violent encounter, Kaneki narrowly survives, only to wake up in the hospital with Rize’s organs transplanted into his body. As a result, he transforms into a human-ghoul hybrid, neither fully human nor fully ghoul.

Struggling to adapt to his new, horrifying reality, Kaneki must navigate the dangerous world of ghouls while clinging to his humanity. He is thrust into a bloody conflict between the ghouls, who live in the shadows, and the government agents who hunt them. As his identity blurs, Kaneki embarks on a grim journey of survival, morality, and self-discovery in a world where monsters walk among humans.
